With hiking, biking, horseback riding, fishing, picknicking, camping, festivals, and community activities, there’s something for everyone at Mountwood Park in Wood County, West Virginia. All are welcome to enjoy this 2,600 acre wooded park with a fifty acre lake and over fifty miles of biking, hiking and horseback riding trails.

Dominion Donates Volunteers and Supplies for Park Improvements

On September 9, twenty to thirty Dominion employees will visit Mountwood Park with paint brushes in their hands and work boots on their feet. Dominion has chosen Mountwood Park to do their annual community service project in. The Friends of Mountwood Park received $2,500 to buy supplies needed to make the improvements to the park. Thank you Dominion!!!

Miss Volcano Pageant-September 4

Watch Miss Volcano 2010 be crowned on Saturday, September 4 at 3pm in the theatre of West Virginia University at Parkersburg. Girls must be 16-22 years old and a West Virginia resident to participate. The Queen receives a $500 scholarship and gift basket.

Ten Mile Challenge-September 18

Ready, set, go...Challenge yourself to a ten mile run hosted by the River City Runners. Go to the Parkersburg River City Runner's website for more information.

The 22nd Annual Volcano Days Festival

Old engines, music, craftors, vendors, and more at Mountwood Park on September 24-26. The festival begins at 5pm with an opening ceremony followed by the Little Miss and Mister Mountwood Pageant.
