Joe Young caught this Brown Trout that was 23 1/2 inches long and weighed 7pounds and 11 ounces in Mountwood Lake on WV Day - Congratulations Joe!!!

Attractions include pedal boats, rowboats, kayaks and canoes all available at reasonable rates.

The WV Department of Natural Resources stocks the lake regularly with enough variety of fish to challenge the most discerning fisherman.

*A fishing permit from West Virginia Department of Natural Resources is required.

A convenient pier, for those who choose not to fish from boats or shore, provides special accommodations for the elderly and the disabled.

A concession area, which is open during the summer months (late May to the 1st of September, weather permitting) round out the lake area facilities.

There is truly something for everyone at Mountwood Park's Lake Area.

Our Marina attendants are Nelisha and Stephanie are available to help with renting boats, selling tackle, renting fishing rods and refreshments!  Need a WV Fishing license? Come to the Administration building Monday - Friday 8:30 to 4:30 and get a permit for the day!

We have added lots of new refreshments and drinks, including a Slush Puppy machine with cool new flavors! 

Come spend the day at Mountwood Lake and if you have forgotten something, check at the Concession stand before driving all the way back into town.....we just may carry it now!
